It is a large often sprawling plant with mostly smooth stms, leaf tips and fruit

Inflorescence is terminal, loose and relatively leafless
The Problem
Most troublesome in long-lived forage crops and in spruce plantations and revegetaton areas
Livestock avoid it and perform poorly on it
Once established it is hard to control
